Homeopathy in Canada achieves a new status

I am really happy the Federal Government, provincial government of Ontario and the Prime Minister have finally acknowledged homeopathy and the Ontario Homeopathic Medical Association! This is a game changer for homeopaths and in turn people, pets, animals, plants and farms in Canada.

I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings to everyone taking part in the 7th National Canadian Homeopathic Conference 2022.

The conference brings together stakeholders, researchers and professionals from across Canada and across the world to discuss and raise awareness of homeopathic practices. I am certain that everyone in attendance will enjoy the activities centred on this year’s theme, “Integrated homeopathic medicine to achieve optimal health and wellness.”

It continues to be a difficult time for planning and hosting events. That is why I would like to thank the organizers for putting together a virtual program. I am certain that delegates will make the most of the opportunity to network, build relationships, and contribute to the goals of the conference.

​The media still works hard to discredit homeopathy and journalists had the support funding of the Federal Ministry of Global Affairs Canada revoked from HTSF-Canada's work to help impoverished communities in Honduras in a multi-year program a few years ago. The program continues despite this attack, in no small part to the huge support of local Honduran governments and community leaders, and in the coming years HTSF-Canada is planning a program that adapts these missions to countries like Honduras and Haiti to Northern Ontario to help provide integrated, sustainable, compassionate, affordable and effective care to the remote communities there including Indigenous groups.

This has been a long term dream of many including myself to bring back the value of clinical, agricultural, and health care homeopathy to the people of Canada. In India there are 164 homeopathic hospitals, more than 10,000 dispensaries, and 284,471 Registered homeopathic doctors and practitioners. In 1894 the Montreal Homeopathic Hospital opened its doors and in 1951 it was renamed the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in honour of the wife of King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, who was soon to become the Queen Mother. This was a fully functioning homeopathic hospital until the 1950's.

This could be possible again one day. Homeopathy is the miraculous way forward, the only option so far that touches on so many of our hot button issues such as pollution, farm run off, soil health, chronic disease, mental health, adaptation and resilience, antibiotic resistance, and with that knowledge we can have some hope again. After the past two years this is a welcome breath of fresh air.
